Attached to 31 Fd Amb in Oxford Barracks, we lived in a hiring In Kosters Kampken. The good lady had decided she wanted to go to a certain Schnell Imbiss in Munster before she went into hospital. Off we went, down to Oxford to check the mail, and then she decided we would walk into Munster.
We visited the Schnell Imbiss, and headed back to the quarter by bus. On the way back she decided to tell me that the labour pains had started - at 3.00 a.m. that morning. Talk about

We ended up getting the downstairs neighbour (a German) to run us into BMH Munster in his 2-door 2CV. Have you ever seen a full term pregnant woman trying to get into the back of one of those things. It took some persuading to get her to see sense and sit in the front!!
I am sure he speeded up by 10kph every time the wife winced or said !OOHHH!
