History of 23 Field Engineer Regiment 1948 to 1958
On 1st February 1947 the 2nd Infantry Division was reformed from what had been 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division with the HQ at St Davids Barracks Hilden with elements of the 5th Infantry Division that was finally disbanded in September 1947
