On 1st Jan 1946 I was sent to Marienheide to take over a former Hitler Jugend barracks and organise a Ski centre for troops in the area. Nothing came of it because at the end of Feb. the batallion moved to Kiel Holtenau. After demob in June 1946 I returned to Bonn having joined the Control Commission for Germany.
