Good day,

I am searching for soldiers or any other people that have been in Germany (Nienburg at the Weser).

Why do I search them ? I am from Nienburg and I am a local history

buff .

I want to know everything over my hometown and I am interested in old

photos from nienburg especially.

For example: There was an old statue in former times in Nienburg and

no one knows what happend with them.

Do you have an idea how to find people (soldiers or complete families

Hello,

Following the recent death of an aged relative I found his old Airman's Service and Pay Book amongst his belongings. Some of the entries are from RAF Wunstorf from January to at least June of 1951 and I was wondering if you could help me out with some research I am doing? I am trying to find out a bit more about what he did and what his role was; are you able to help me?

His name was Duncan Howie and his number was 1591406 (I think! It is quite difficult to read some of the numbers!). ...

I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction or give me some advice. I'm helping my husband research his family and his grandfather RSM Fred Emerson in particular.

We know that Fred was in the Sherwood Foresters during WWII and that he was also in BAOR supposedly in Nuremburg. We have recently got copies of his service record which is quite informative but not when it comes to BAOR, only giving the dates he was with them 18-11-45 to 2-2-49 but no location/s. ...

He will be about 40 in May too

Was an Army chef from mid 1980's - was stationed at 1CTW in Bielefeld, Hereford and I last saw himwhilst he was at the sailing club north of Osnabruck (Dumersee?) around 1993.

His parents also had served in the British Forces and in the 1980's were living near the Dutch Border and working as civvies for the forces.

Can anyone help

He left Goslar in March 1950 for England - probably Weybridge, Surrey, although it is not clear if he was stationed in barracks or lived around there.

He was born in 1912/13.

His nickname was 'Long Henry' back then.
