Im looking at the Tiger and King tiger units that were based and trained there, as this area was where they did all the trials and testing of the tank. Ive managed to get on the area and look at these sites but its hard to get any pics of this time.

A registration slip from the World Jewish Relief Archive provides the only information I have about a relative's military service:

BERNHARD KLUGMANN was at Bergen-Belsen, Camp 5, MB 37/15, Military Government 618, B.A.O.R. in 1945.

Since I do not know Bernhard's regiment or corps, I have not been able to obtain his military records. Does the above information hold any clues about Bernhard's service? Does anyone know about the 618 MGD at Bergen-Belsen?

In August 2008 Livingstone P. wrote about his father who was with the Armour across N. Germany and ends with the phrase "...first into Bergen-Belsen."

I have just completed reading a new(ish) book by Gavin Mortimer, entitled "Stirling's Men" which I would highly recommend.

It is the story of all bracnches of the SAS (1- 5 SAS including the Belgian Detachment) from Day 1 in North Africa to the end of WWII with 1 and 2 SAS on the Elbe, then going to Norway for "clean-up"operations.

My father took photos with the US 84th Division in WWII. I am trying to verify the location of one of the images. On this website, Herford, Germany looks like a good possibility, judging by a small postcard posted on one of the links. If anyone cares to take a look, I can gladly email the photo. Looks like there are some British and American POWs just liberated in the photo. You may email me at mjmphotos@yahoo.com

Hi

I have a christmas card which my dad sent to his parents from Germany at Christmas 1945.

I know he was in the army of occupation, but he never ever spoke to us about what he did during the war. He died suddenly in 1980 at the age of 65, and I am trying to find out what he did in the war.

The front of the card has a print of a pen or pencil drawing of a steet with a church, and the words Bad Salzuflen below.

I know that Bad Salzuflen is a place in Germany which is famous for its natural ...

My mother-in-law's brother who was named JOHN BROWN served here in Tidworth during the middle 1930s. He sadly died at the age of 18 of pneumonia in Tidworth Military Hospital and is buried in Tidworth Military Cemetery in an unmarked grave. I would appreciate if anyone can tell me how I can find out more about him. Im afraid I don't know anymore than this as his sister died in the 70s, and my husband (ex 4/7 RDG) (his nephew) sadly passed in Jan this year. Many thanks.
