| Jim, It seems you might not have been far off the mark about "Training Flights" Found this whilst looking for other things. "Royal Air Force Squadron Leader A.M. Johnstone led the nine Dakotas of No 30 Squadron off the field of Schleswigland, flew a circuit of the installation, and set course for the German Isle of Sylt on the Baltic, During their stay on the continent, the officers and men discovered the resort was a popular gathering place for attractive young women, and “training flights” to the spa had been routine. It dates from the time of the Berlin Airlift. | Thats right, the North Sea it is.Lovely place, thatched houses and lots of Millionaires. If you win the lottery then thats the place to be!Personally I prefer the Island of Juist, also in the North Sea,but its the place for peace and quiet,no cars allowed, and you get woken up by the horses doing the deliveries.By the way, nudist beaches are know as FKK areas(very appropriate) Changing ariels from tomorrow till the 24th(off to UK) Best wishes ----- Don |
