Smile I was never stationed at Wunsdorf, but during the Berlin Air Lift I took Regtl Trumpeters to Wunsdorf twice to sound off on the sad occasions of air crashes there. What I do remember of the RAF canteen was the wonderful bread rolls stuffed with seductive yellow butter. The Autobahn from Braunschweig to Hannover in those days was practically empty, and our V8 Ford 15cwts could touch the ton!

I wouldn't mind learning more about RAF Wunstorf as I stop there every day on the train and live fairly near.

Bexy,
Sorry can't say more about Wunstorf as I was not stationed there.Go to the Steinhudermeer though sometimes.Funny but I always thought of it as "Wunsdorf"

Have a little more information on Wunstorf, and I hope to get it on to the main site as soon as possible.

Paul.
