PostSubject: Bad Salzuflen    14/10/2010, 16:27

You have received the following message through the Contact Us form on your Microsoft Office Live Small Business Web site:

Message:

Please make this anonymous. Was just looking at your BAOR page. I can confirm Bad Salzuflen was in B.A.O.R. 15. My mom worked for Lutheran World Federation there in 1949-50. I'm looking at an envelope with her return address.

Hope this is a little help.

Gordon

Anon is correct, Bad Salzuflen was originally BAOR 15 served from the main Sapper military Post Office in Herford

The change to BFPO 15 was in the mid 50s as part of the introduction of the worldwide BFPO system

NOT AT ALL...it does say over the door 'BAOR Locations' and Webmaster Phil created this website to record BOAR from its formation to the BFG that it is today or what is left of it...the forum is part of it and there is no reason why the research and the banter cannot continue side by side...I joined for the history but enjoy the none BAOR stuff and banter but was hoping that more of you would help JPW and myself with the research...thanks must go to Mike for running the website/forum in Phil's absence
Cheers and the beat must go on

If anything it was straying away from its original intention of recording memories to more of a chat room at times.

From the Home Page -

Quote :
Welcome

This is your opportunity to add to over 60 years history of British Forces in Germany.

Feel free to add your own memories, images or questions to the forum.

The 'Add Image' facility now works.

The Updates/New Addtions are being posted here so that members may comment on them, as not every message is correct, and some need 'tweaking' We all share an interest in the main site, do we not?

I am only the caretaker Webmaster, and I hope Phil will return to take up the task again.

Mike
