Yeah, and me started Mai 1987 at Hildesheim Airfield. April of course, the mandatory training course in Sennelager with Instructor Paddy and my good old dog "FRITZ". Jody Hailes from Celle was at Hildesheim as well.

A son of a britisch Soldiere from Hameln was at my basic course and startet at Wöhle Ammo Depot, but I'm not sure about his Name. (Paul ???)
I even don't know the name of the Superintendent, but he was a Pakistani.

Ich bin ein Berliner
Looking for anything to do with the British army in Berlin?????

There must be loads of young German men or woman in Berlin that fit your above description. Sorry, my German humour coming out again.

All fascinating subjects, but have you forgotten that it is time now that you put your mind to those presents for Christmas and not leave it to the last minutes. You, or most likely your Dad’s or his Dad will want something thoughtful and interesting as a gift. I have worked hard and burnt much midnight oil to make this possible for you. Why not look at the following internet site and happy reading to all.

I seem to recall seing the MSO Lads when in BAOR in the mid 1960s, when on exercsie, that they had their own rank structures, with officers, SNCOs, and they were armed the same as we were with SMG's when out on field schemes at Senelagger and elsewhere.

Do the MSO still exist as part of the British Military that is still in Germany, or were they disbanded years ago?

That MSO cap badge. I can't ever remember seeing one with such clearly defined lettering. The ones I remember were more like a highly polished, plain brass disc.

MSO Badges 1957%20MSO%20Guard%20of%20Honour_zpsqfj8sbba

The first photo, (guys in black Battle Dress) taken early post war in Hamburg. These are early days for the uniform. No badges yet! The guys would have initially have carried out various tasks, mainly guard duties and driving.

The 1957 photo I found on the net. Note badges.

This video clip will help to understand a little about the MSO and how things came to an end in 1987.

Does anybody have any idea how this organization existed till the end of the cold war ie, 1989-1990?

Hey Oliver,
we joined the MSO in August 1988, as a doghandler. We've been on course in Sennelager, with Paddy Dempsey as our instructor.
