I met Webmaster Phillip on a number of occasions whilst he was on a long career course in the UK. He was subsequently posted to Germany where his parent Regiment was warned off for an operational tour in Afghanistan (the reason for him having to handover his responsibilities for the management of this site).
There is a lengthy article in this month's Craftsman (the REME Corps Magazine) in which he is mentioned. I have no private contact address but will contact you privately Steve by pm to suggest a possible option There was once, not too long ago, a superb website called artillery-friends.net. It held information on EVERY artillery battery in the Royal Regiment (imagine THAT !) and was able to put ex-gunners in touch with each other. Putting aside regimental loyalties for a moment gents, the information therein, concerning the largest regiment in the British Army, vanished in a second because the bloke who set it all up was a serving soldier (I think 3 RHA), and his operational obligations forced him to close the site down. All the information on that website has now, tragically, gone. I, personally, would hate to see this happen to "our" website but my circumstances prevent me from offering anything but monetary support. My best wishes to everyone who is trying to keep "us" going ! |

Hope he knows what he is doing..I have about a quarter of the site saved to my PC..Easy peasy but time consuming..Didn`t realise just how much info was on the site.. |

I remember that Brum, he had records and information dating back to the end of WW 2, run by a Bdr in 3 RHA, Hohne. As you say it would by a tragedy if this one went, still thinking positively Gordon is on the case and we haven't heard from Webmaster Phil. I can't imaginge that anyone would want to set up a Website of this magnitude and then abandon it! So, come one Phil -where are you? |

| It is a VERY good morning just to let you know all the website has been preserved I quote from an email received this morning
"Managed to penetrate to the maximum site level extracting 3119 files and 22 errors. (error were mainly dead links)
The main baor-locations.co.uk Directory contains LAYOUT – DOCUMENTS – IMAGES – HEADER - IMAGES - ORIGINALS plus all of the HTML links etc.
The other files relate to the hosting site, google, robots etc etc.
You should have enough there to rebuild a decent website should you need to."
Do stress this is just incase Phil cannot be located and the website goes down All the best Steve - not my work just know a man who can |

| Well done Steve, at least we have a backup now. The URL www.baor-locations.co.uk is owned by Webmaster Phil and we need him to transfer it to any new site, or lose the name and Google reputation. _________________ Sua Tela Tonanti

| Welcome back Jim The website BAOR-locations.co.uk is still there but if Webmaster Phil is not tracked down the website will be switched off 30 April all detail lost…have sent a message to Phil's unit but they are on block leave and how long do not know have also sent a snail mail letter via the BFPO system…as a precaution a former Royal Signals friend of mine is a computer expert and he has kindly copied the website…if you go through the thread you will see the details Best regards Steve...back to work!
