| Sorry that I haven't been about for a while, but my wife, Rachel, has had breast cancer. Fortunately, she has made a good recovery (without the aid of useless Chemo) and is now back to her usual self. Now to my post. Many of you may already know this but, for the benefit of those who don't, it is very simple to make calls to Germany from a landline or mobile for just one penny a minute. No registration, no pin numbers or other complications. Just go to http://www.planet-numbers.co.uk/phone_germany.jsp and follow the instructions The saving, over BT, is more than £12 an hour. We use it for dialing the wife's sister in Canada. You can phone almost anywhere in the world. Hope someone finds this useful. |

| So glad to hear of Rachel's recovery ... lost my first wife Mary to cancer 12 years ago, I know how stressful it can be.

| Thanks for your support, gentlemen. Nice to be back again. Ciphers. My sympathy. I can imagine what you went through. A most dreadful disease. And I also realise how very, very fortunate we have been. |

| On the subject of cheap phone calls, i remember well that the old Shilling bits used to fit into the German phones, used to stock up when on leave. |

| Dolmetscher, Also glad your wife has been sucessful with the chemo. My wife has just undergone 15 sessions of radiotherapy for the big C at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. She now has to go for the checkup results etc. Fingers crossed and all that.
Back to the thread, there is another web site offering cheap calls called at www.telestunt.co.uk Been using them for a couple of years to phone my Sister in Bavaria. Jimsigs1 |
