| Anybody been watching that WW1 play on BBC1 ? The main character was running around with what looked like a WW2 German bayonet on his belt. I wonder who made the uniforms for them, some were hilarious, especially the hats ! I could could help the Beeb out with that stuff. I wonder if they could use a military advisor ? My fees would be reasonable. | |

| [quote="brum"] Anybody been watching that WW1 play on BBC1 ?

Eh up Brum! Couldn't agree more, but I reckon the Beeb is better at it than Ch4. Didn't notice that Kar 98 bayonet, though, I was more engrossed in giving attention to continental nipples. On the whole, I reckon that, it was pretty well done, though if one must give criticism to historical stuff, it may be accurate but I'm surprised that the protecting foot sloggers. all who look far too well scrubbed & fresh faced for WW1 squaddies, were shoved into the confines of the dig with nothing more handy than a bayonet atop an SMLE. And didn't those torch batteries last for yonks !
Moan, moan, moan, but it was much better than most & kept my attention.

| I'd noticed the bayonet on his belt a few times mate but it only appeared unsheathed once, when he was interefering with that prossy. At least . . . at least, I THINK it was a bayonet ! If you ever read the book, the underground period was a lot more claustrophobic than the Beeb's version. | |

Like the Avatar you've acquired ! Very impressive, although the pigeon looks a bit surprised, just as if someone has stuck a finger up its bottom............. (joking allowed between ex- Gunners ) Of course the pigeon looks surprised. Until you turned up everybody thought he was an eagle, pal ! (Why would somebody want to stick his finger up a pigeon's bum, by the way ?).
