PostSubject: Cap Comforter!   Cap Comforter! Icon_minitime8/10/2012, 11:45

Hi Chaps,
Like so many of us ageing BAORites I feel the cold a little more than I used to, so I paid a visit to my local ex-army clothing store and purchased a cap comforter.
Imagine my embarrasment on attempting to show my wife how to fold it ready to wear, only to find that I had forgotten the way we used to do it ( it WAS more than fifty years ago, that's my excuse.)
Help!

I know, brum.
I'm so embarassed!
I couldn't remember whether the end of the comforter stuck up, or whether it was supposed to be folded down into the rolled-up bit.
Oh heck.I'm goin' back to me bunk!

Looking at the picture Gordon posted makes me wonder whether the bod modelling it had been on the falling-down juice the night before.
The pallid look and blank stare reminds me of how I must have looked on many a muster parade the morning after a session in Mickies Bar (Osnabruck).

of course people wore tin hats , our bloody csm had us wearing the bloody things on excersise , range courses , route marches etc . but as i said the worst part was crouching in a bloody slit trench in a blizzard in germany in the middle of winter . the stupid sod actually made us pack the top of our tin hats with snow and ice to blend into the background , the same bloody csm fired an energa anti tank grenade from the shoulder he wanted to fly through the air , mind you the old bugger was not all bad , he would write late passes on the back of beer mats so the lads could sup a bit longer , when he came into the pub he was in the chair , ginger

A very useful and diverse piece of clothing - to keep the head warm, as a wrap around the neck. It can also be turned inside out and used as a handbag...!!! pale What a Face

I used use mine as a nightcap to keep my head warm on cold nights. No doubt there are many, many more uses it could be put to, but which are not suitable to the delicate ears and eyes of maiden aunts.... pale Shocked
