14 Sqn, housed in the block far right of Ripon as you walked in the main gate - I had a couple of mates there in the early 90s.... I really loved being in Bielefeld as a squaddie - best times I've had!

I know the ones I drove had two numbers, two letters and two numbers. Does that help? Oh and on RAF vehicles the first letter was A (I fink)?

How do you do that? Remember Reg. numbers. I never had a vehicle for long enough to get comfortable in it before some REME bloke would break it and I'd have to get another one. As for knowing the number, I would just try and remember where I parked it and then get the nearest one to that spot.
Mind you in BAOR as an under strength Regt becoming Mechanised Infantry we had more vehicles that you could shake a stick at. Even the cooks had a vehicle on their signature. At one time I had 3, a champ, a 1 ton Austin and a Humber 1 ton armoured (Pig).
We spent days just driving around the training areas trying to use up the petrol ration. Treasure hunts and rally's took precedence over digging holes and shooting things

What were the circumstances that left your regt so under strength Wrinkles?

From the vehs you mention this would be early sixties, too early for the WFR amalgamation so about the time NS ended, would that have caused it ?

Too many vehicles to mention.

I was OCs driver so had a 110 petrol land rover on flick as well as a drops and a 4 tonner.

Didn't have a m/c on flick but did flip one once Very Happy
