Hy guys,

Just joined the forum, my name is Eric and 60 years young, now living in China for my sins, Ex Clerk REME 72 - 84. I was a fully trained auto technician when I enlisted so they gave me a typewriter instead of a hammer, logic init someplace LOL. Arrived in China in 94 to work on Mercedes Benz and forgot to leave. Wonderful country and a lovely Chinese wife.

Hope to chat with you all in the near future. Health wealth and happiness to all.

Eric

Welcome

There is a powerful REME presence on this site reflecting a variety of experience and eras who emerge from time to time to carry out the traditional Corps task of clearing up the mess others leave behind.

Hi Eric, welcome to the Site.

Thanks, nice looking forum you chaps have here. I suppose I have reached that age where it is time to remember the good times before I start to forget everything lol.

When an 80 year old was asked what, at this age, would be the most worrying, alzheimers or parkinsons the pensioner said I would rather have Parkinsons and spill half my wine glass than have Alzheimers and not remember where the bottle is.

The scaleys in 3 Div were OK except for the RSM who wanted me busted, I had to tend to the mess gardens in order to placate him, left his dress hat on the mess lawn once, dammed if I know how the lawn mower got it, must have had a mind of its own no? Rolling Eyes

Gunners yes now there is a wild crowd Very Happy My first Regiment was 25 Lt Regt RA LAD in Catterick and the MT Sgt was a pain in my neck, but heck he was a nice guy really, just needed everything yesterday is all. Well what goes around comes around and 21 years later I met him again in Hong Kong where I was his new boss as a civvy lol!

But the barstuard won 40 million HKD on the lotto and retired to Thailand before I got the chance to piss him off affraid
