| ‘My father, S/SGT Frank Kirkman, was in the British Army (BAOR), in the Royal Army Service Corps (RASC), and we lived in the Lübeck and Neumünster area from 3 September 1946 to 30 September 1954. Philip was born in Lübeck, and died on the same day, 5 July 1950. I have a copy of his birth and death certificates, and a photograph of his grave. I am now trying to locate his grave site, which I believe is somewhere in the area near Lübeck.
I have been trying to locate my brother’s (Philip) grave for several years now. Originally I posted a request on the TACA website, and can say that they have been extremely helpful, but I am still searching. I have a photo of the metal-cross headstone which is quite unique, so I hoping that someone might recognise that particular style. It is inscribed with both Philip and his sister, Patricia, names. Interestingly, the grave just behind Philip’s (RHS)bears the inscription ‘SON OF SGT WC FINN’. The third metal-cross headstone (LHS) visible in the photograph bears part of a family name ‘ORO’. Again, I am hoping that someone might know of, or recognise these names. Any assistance would be most gratefully appreciated.

I have PM'd you. Over the recent years I have been able to trace graves by contacting a Registry office in Schleswig Holstein. Maybe they have details? I will email them next week for you.
