PostSubject: Relatives of WW1 soldier, William Hancock   20/5/2014, 16:51

I have a WW1 medal that was awarded to CPL WILLIAM HANCOCK and he served in the N. STAFF. R.
The medal has his service number on it and I will keep this for security reasons.
I have researched as far as I can and have been told of his enlistment and discharge dates and a little bit more.
Apparently the WW1 records seem to have been lost/destroyed so next of kin cannot be found.
William may have been part of the BEDFORDSHIRE & HERTFORDSHIRE REGIMENTS, and the Regiment number was apparently 205931.
Anyone knowing of a HANCOCK in these Regiments could hold the key to this little mystery of mine.
If you have any info, please ring me on 01652 656304.
Thank you.
