PostSubject: Looking for any info on Alan Dorking   16/1/2015, 10:25

Hi,
Recently, my mum gave me my dad's photo album from when he did his National Service. He would have been 18 in September 1950, but I don't know if he went in around that time or if it was early 51. I do know that he did his basic training at Catterick and then he went to Detmold where he drove a Centurion tank but that's about all I know as he rarely said anything about his time in the army. The album has a lot of photo's of him and his mates, along with the tanks and other vehicles, and postcards from Winterburg & Bad Lippspringe where he went on leave, but it would be nice to put a story to the photo's and some names to his mates as we know so little. If anybody here was serving around that time and could help with info on his regiment or any of the above, it would be great to hear from you.
