The Regiment de la Chaudiere (Les Chauds) is a well known name to those members of the BAOR Locations team researching the Canadian presence in Northwest Germany in 1945/46. The 1st Battalion ended the war in the Aurich area under command 8 Infantry Brigade of the 3rd Canadian Division, their stay there was very brief, in late May they moved to Holland

In early July the reorganised and restructured 3rd Battalion (reinforced by men from other Canadian Francophone units,) returned to the Wilhelmshaven area as part of the new 3rd Canadian Infantry Division (Canadian Army Occupation Force).
