PostSubject: 44th Regiment HAA 153 battery based in Crerar barracks 1951   19/12/2016, 15:05

Hi there,

I'm posting this on behalf of my grandad who is keen to know if there is anyone on this forum who served in the same regiment as him or may know someone who did.

My grandad, Bobby 'Bob' Howes was in the 44th Regiment HAA 153 battery that was stationed in the Crerar barracks, Oldenburg in 1951 to 1952.

The troop commander at the time was Captain G.W Gray.

A few names my Grandad can remember are:

Frank Bennett
Jim Hore
Ken Wyatt
Ray Greenfield
Tom Priestley
Gordon Golton
Laurence Hart
Ken Paterson
Alec Hobden
Ken Turner
Ken Page (REME)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Jack

Jack

Welcome

Sadly I don't think there is any current contributor who served in Oldenburg. A couple of us are very interested in the history of Crerar Barracks we may contact your grandfather through you privately in the New Year.
