PostSubject: German musicians in CCG and Officers' Clubs   6/10/2017, 14:02

Dear all,

I was wondering if anyone of you know where to find information about German bands and entertainers hired by the Allied forces to play in their clubs.

I am interested in the time period from 1945-1955.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,
thanks for your reply. I am especially interested in Hamburg, Bielefeld, and Düsseldorf but I am not limited to that areas in my research.

Heinz Johannsen, I also contacted you via pm. Smile

Greetings to my home (Schleswig Holstein)!
Lena

Lena

Will contact you privately but I think the majority of the recruitment of entertainers in the various social clubs across the British Zone in the immediate post war period was by word of mouth or friend of a friend not formal advertisements in local newspapers which were subject to strict controls by the British Authorities in Summer 1945 and with scarce resources the circulations were very small.

Heinz may be help with his knowledge of the Covent Garden Club in Rendsburg.
