| Does anyone know the address of the Belgian Military Hospital in Soest. My youngest daughter was born there in 1986 . We went back last year for a short visit , had problems finding the MQ patch let alone the Hospital. We're hoping to go back next year for another visit. Any help would be much appreciated. | |

| ehehehe...I do happen to know of a site that lists the old Belgian hospital but would have to go and search for it...
The former Canadian high school in Soest was taken over by the Belgians and they have a site up, which is quite good even though it's all in Flemish it's fairly easy to figure out. They have stuff on the Belgian hospital there. Lemme go and check out the URL for it and I will get back to ya!

| Also, with regards to finding the old MQ patch. It really isn't hard to find, head south on Hiddingser Weg off the B-1 and it will be on your right hand side... | |

| Thanks Stephen. I think we found it on Google Earth. We went back last year while on holiday and found the MQs after a bit of searching. Sad to see it now. The wife got a bit tearful when she saw our old MQ.It was just a flying visit as we only had a week and were based up in Hannover. We're planning to take a bit longer next year.I think what threw us was that we came into town from the wrong direction . Found Salamanca Barracks no problem though. | |

| Yes, from what I can gather the old MQ site in both Soest and Hemer have been rented out to East German and German-Russian emigres/refugees.
However, I also understand at least some of the old MQs in Soest have gone what we here in Canada refer to as "condo" or condominiums...flats one owns and common areas shared amongst the host of condo owners, who form the Board of Directors of the "company." How such things work in Germany, I have no idea.
