Looking at the page on Bindon Barracks, the correct unit title is 35 Engineer Regiment i.e. it wasn't 'amphibious'.

Information is missing...28 Amph Engr Regt was formed at Bindon Barracks Jan 71 until Apr 92 then became 28 Engr Regt in Dec 99 moved to Gordon Barracks after 35 Engr Regt moved to Barker Barracks Paderborn if the history is correct 35 Corps Engr Regt moved to Gordon Barracks from Roberts Barracks Osnabrück in Sep 64 disbanded in 1965 and the squadrons became independant reforming as 35 Engr Regt in Nov 70 until Dec 77 then 4 Armd Div Engr Regt then Jan 81 back to 35 Engr Regt Dec 99 until the move to Paderborn as recorded on this website that from Nov 70 44 Fd Sp Sqn joined as was Bindon Annex until the move to Paderborn becoming 44 HQ & Sp Sqn...if I have it wrong please let me know regards Steve geek on the truck off the truck lol!

That certainly matches my memory wth regards the situation from the mid-80s onwards; I served in 29 Fd Sqn in Gordon Barracks from 1989-91 and elsewhere in BAOR before and after then,
