| Hi from sunny Staffordshire I came across your very informative website while researching some photos I have in my ever increasing collection. My main interest is the WW2 North African Campagain and its battles due to my grandfathers service out there with the 1/6th Queens Rpyal west Surreys (infantry of the 7th Armoured Division). I have created a website www.eightharmy.co.uk in his memory and for all those that served alongside him. The reason for my post is that in my collection I have a series of photos which I am sure are of barracks (BOAR) in Bielefeld Germay they were taken I think at the end of the war, in one of the pictures you will see a couple of guys standing by a sign "50 RHU armoures workshop" I dont know if this will help with the identification. this collection starts of in Iraq "Habbaniya" a RAF base and covers Syria, North Africa and then ends up in Bielefeld...I think, I say think because the only thing I have to go on is that they were developed in Bielefeld. I have 11 photos that i will try to attach. I hope you will be able to help in the identification. thanks and regards | |

| Subject: Ripon Barracks 3/1/2009, 23:31 | |
| Hi Guys after trawling through various links and websites I think these pictures are from Ripon Barracks Bielefled maybe someone here maybe able to confirm this I have about 30 or so pictures of around these barracks. Also can anyone confirm weatheror not Winston Churchill visisted these barracks as I have a very poor picture that looks very much like the man himself awarded someone with something. | |

| I can confirm that most of the photos are of Ripon Barracks. I was there as a "brat" in the late 50's and remember the swimming pool well. I was also posted there in the 60s and again recognise some of the scenes. | |
