Hi Eddie, I am a german boy (ok 47 years old boy) from Nienburg, and maybe you have seen that I am looking for old photos from Nienburg. Could you help? Do youhave some in your fotobook at home?

We had a neighbor and his name was Tiggy Wright (I hope to spell it correcty) ... might that help you?

Thanks
Peter

hello PeterB
many thanks for your reply.
I will try and get some photos for you, but there won't be many because
I did not have a camera in those days - other people tended to take pictures, and I only got a few, mainly on or in the army barracks.

tell me something Peter - is 'The Long Bar' still open in Nienburg?
That was our favourite place to have a few beers
Smile

Hi Eddie,

the "Long Bar" is called "Lange Theke" and no, there is a rocker meeting point now. The inkeeper "Regina" is very ill and sold it ...

Do you remember anything else? Maybe I have some photos for you...

Besi wishes
Peter

PostSubject: thanks for information Peter   24/9/2009, 21:23

It is so good of you to send me information.
I really appreciate it.

I must say Peter - your English is very good indeed.

I am told that the army barracks is now a police station and part of it is being demolished.

If I get some pictures for you - how is best to send them
I have an email address if you want it

Eddie

Thanks for your compliment concerning my english. You may send me pictures at my adress hhbuesch@web.de , that would be wonderful.

The baracks are now used as a police headquarter, and some of them must made place for our new health centre (hospital, lots of doctors...). If you would like to see the fotos I will send them to you... what is your email adress?

Thanks a lot again
Peter

PS: We are visiting UK in two weeks ... lovely country!!!

Hi Peter - will send a couple of pictures via email shortly.
They may be of little use though because they are mainly army lads having beers and barracks, but see what you think.

look out for email Peter

Eddie

ps - we also have holiday booked in a couple of weeks.
hope you enjoy the uk - we are just pleased to get away from it! ha!
