Can anyone name all the MQ's locations in and around Osnabrück? I remember Belm, Kleine London (near Sedan Strasse), Kleine Moscow (near Roberts Barracks) and Dodesheide but I am sure there were more on the outskirts to the west. Possibly Lotte and Wersen?

Don't remember Verte. How far out was it?

A friend of mine lived at Lotte to the west.

I suspect "Verte" was Wehrte, since the entrance to 12 Armd Wksp (IIRC from looking at Live Maps last week) was off the Wehrte Landstarsse.

And we had people in Lotte, who all claimed RTPOD cased on a daily round trip of something like 20 miles until our Div 2 Mil Acct went to visit a mate and realised the round trip was only 20 Km. Commander Finance was not a happy teddy when he learnt of all these fraudulent claims. Thing was somebody had clocked it as 20, misread Km as miles, claimed for it and everyone thereafter, when asked what they could claim, put down 20 miles.

PostSubject: MQs Osnabruck   6/8/2008, 11:30

I lived in Dodesheide at no 15 Kastanienstrasse as a pad brat. I recall that on the opposite side of the road were all teachers flats and houses. All the streets were named after trees. Kastanien - chestnut. Think there was Akazienstrasse - catkin. Then later on the big flats were built up near the barracks. One name I shall never forget was something like Schlessischestrasse, none of us could ever pronounce it. At the bottom of the road was the AKC which did 2 shows a night. I was a young teen at the time and often used to meet a young soldier in there. I did actually meet Les Grantham in there (Dirty Den) he was in the Royal Fusiliers, we dated on and off for about 6 weeks and then I was packed off to Windsor Girls for 3 years.Unfortunately it was at the time of a certain incident which I don't think I can write on here. Happy Days.

We lived in Dodesheide on Schleisher Strasse(?).
There was Belm also known at that time as Sin City and a place called GMH ( Georgesmarianne Hutte ) .
Was Kleine London not opposite Belfast Barracks on Sedan Strasse? I also seem to remember that they built new MQs for officers just down the road from Dodesheide.
