I take it that this is someone writing for their father Exclamation

Otherwise it would be a medical miracle scratch

Seriously though now, I sure that some one of our worthy members wiil point you in the right direction. Have you tried looking at http://www.redcap70.net/ There might be someone there who could help as well.

Was Hoch Strasse (High Street??) in Hilden itself? I know it is a long time ago, but as much details as poosible could help.

Paul.

It's me again Smile

Was your father in 2 Div RMP at Hilden, or 2 Div RMP attached to HQ 2 Div in Hilden, and that was HQ 2 Inf Div,

As far as I can find out, there was only one Barracks in Hilden (St Davids). Try contactin Ian Dixon on the RMP site. Look at the main site links page, the link is in the right column near the top. There are also photographs from 2 Div as well, some from the 1950's. Does the name Ken Metcalfe ring a bell with your Dad?

Paul.

I quote a reply received from the Redcap site I mentioned:-

...Hilden was the Düßeldorf detachment RMP. I have Roy listed. Somehow his name rings a bell. He may have contacted me in the past, but I can't find any trace of him having e-mailed me before!...
