[b][i]
Barracks in Berlin
I served there from 1964 until 1966: Prior to that I was in Sarawak and Bushfield Camp near Winchester! Later know as Greenjackets and Royal Greenjackets(now 4th Rifles) my Bn was the first Bn. 43rd & 52nd; oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.

I would be interested in reading stories of those that were in Berlin Bde., at the same period in history! I served in Sp. Coy: Enough for the present moment,

Greetings snaijper,

You don't give your age but would you be of the No 4 (T) or L42A1 persuasion ?

Originally No.4(T) and thenL42A1; privately(Steyr 7.62mmX66mm)single shot only; No box magazine: Have utilised Light Fifty-12.7mmX50mm; 5 and 10 round box magazine(very satisfactory in anti/counter-sniper work! and I am now in my 65th year; having completed a six year tour with 43rd&52nd; 1st Greenjackets and 1st Royal Greenjackets; before moving onto Warminster and then as an officer with 2RGR; later being promoted to staff and retiring as a major-general: So I am very old and extremely well travelled.

Yes I miss it and do NOT enjoy being a retired busted up civilian, but who does,
snaijper

After completing three tours of Iraq and three of Afghanistan I may have a jaundiced point of view; but I do NOT like ragheads in my country![b][i] albino

Blimey snaijper, that's SOME CV, I can see we'll have to watch our P's & Q's from now on !
I did a course at Sennelager on the L42, all ready for a tour in Andersonstown, then they took it off me because they'd found that the 19 ton bolt was cracking. Much lamentation.
When I got to Ireland I took over a beautiful No4 (T) and was the envy of everybody!
Looking at your collection, in this country I could go to jail just for thinking about stuff like that.
Furthermore, I could go to jail for calling someone a Raghead, even though they are our enemy !! Bleedin' Ragheads.

Thank you Gentlemen for your warm welcome: I will NOT disgrace your august ranks:

The last weapon(American light fifty; error-should have read 12.7X99mm)Sorry! nice to be outspoken at times and as far as I know; we CANNOT be prosecuted for our oldfashioned if slightly right-winged views,
