| As I recall, the Cpls Mess at 1 Div wouldn't sell singles because it was too much messing about with change. i.e. a double spirit and a bottle of mixer came to 1DM. Mike[/quote] Mike Lots of drinks to the pound...not sure of the LOA but the pay was just short of 8 pounds a week in early 67...please check your PMs Cheers Steve | |

| Sounds like most singly weekend to me Steve, certainly true of me until I moved into MQ's. Mind you i don't recall that being all that different either.
In the Squadron bar at 20 Bde a double bacardi and coke cost 50pfngs. absolutely dirt cheap.

| It was located on the top of the accommodation block next to the Brigade HQ building Teabag. It was run by 20 Bde Signal Sqn.
I don't recall the name, though the blue lagoon springs to mind.

| I have to agree with much of that Rocky. Go down town here on a sunny day and the streets are snided out with Chav types. Young foul mouthed birds with a kid or two in a pushchair accompanied by a feckless halfwit who's IQ is no greater than his hat size. They are invariably munching burgers or some such the wrappings of which are dropped where ever. This washed down with a can of something. Foul language, yobbish behaviour, rudeness and general disrespect for all and sundry seems to be the standard these days. It's time the gene pool had a bloody good clean out. | |

| Ah yes wrinkles, I was buying a portion of fish n Chips for lunch a while back, in front of me in the queue was a vision of tattoed loveliness. She was wearing a pink velour tracksuit and had an essex facelift. She had several children with her, all varying shades. Her little girl was playing around and bumped into me. Mother says "ChanF*****talle, leave the F***** gentleman alone, or I'll slap your F***** arse"
Wonderful, here we have a little 3 or 4 year old who probably thinks her name is ChanF****talle.
