Still here Brum, trying to keep out of the Sun!! Back to reality on Thursday (for a few weeks, anyway)!! Gordon seems to have let the promotion to FM go to his head, haven't seen him since he commandeered a Chateau in the Dordogne.

I am not surprised, I shouldn't complain but, it has now become almost unbearably hot and getting hotter. Time for a reality check! sunny sunny

We used to 'shut up shop' and return to camp during the summer heat when I was in Cyprus, used to start work early 6 am first works, breakfast ferried to work stations around Nicosia and quit about 12.30pm - unless we had to do a patrol - was that the case in your time Shelldrake.

Steve and I are stuck in a minefield marked on maps as the history of BAOR 1945-1950

Incidentally what has happened to FM Gordon's promotion? Have MOD treasury auditors demanded a recount of his postings? I thought promotion to FM was an appointment for life. He appears to have been demoted in less than a week
