PostSubject: needing info regarding benefits for one who served   Wed May 14, 2008 3:06 pm

[b]Leon Nevraumont served with the BAOR for two years in Germany. Born in London, England March 17, 1926, he died June 10, 1992. We were married and I would like to know if there are any health benefits that would be available to me as a result of his service. I reside in Canada. Lee became a Canadian Citizen after discharge. I am a Canadian Citizen. Thank you for any help you can offer - mspencerbenson@shaw.ca .

Where have you already looked for information?

Whether any benefits (if there are any available) would be payable could be open to debate for a number of reasons, one being that he became a Canadian citizen, although if that would stop any pension due to his service I cannot say.

As far as I know, in my small capacity, any pension/benefits paid to him would have died with him if there were no dependents.

Maybe someone else on here has a better idea!?!

Have you tried Veteran's organisations in Canada?

His Regimental Association?

The Veteran's Agency here in the UK?

Let us know what you have, but don't forget that we are not a legal team here. Anything we give as answers is purely what we know or think. It would be in your own interests to check out the answers for yourself.

Paul.
