 | Subject: Try to find my father Mon Aug 11, 2008 4:07 pm | |
| Dear Sirs, my name is Gaby Müller, I´m 42 years old and from Hamm(Germany). I´m the daughter of Gisela Müller who was in a realtionship with a British Army member (stationed in the Crmwell Barracks) in the beginning 60th. The name of my father is Mr. Charles Derek Walter Batty. I have one brother, he is 47 years old and his name is Michael Walter. I´m not sure if you could help me, but the only thing I have found on google was your name. Mr. Batty went back to UK before I was born and now I´m on my way to find out if he is still alive. I don´t want to look for any payments or stuff like this!! I only want him to know that he has a German daughter. That´s all a bit difficult because the British Goverment and the British Army don´t give away any information about British Army Members. So hopefully you have any informations for me. Please excuse me to disturb you, but this situation is absolutely new for me , I found it out last Wednesday! Thanks a lot for reading my lines!! Kindest regards Gaby Müller |

| If your natural father (Mr Batty) is still alive, it is possible that he is receiving an Army Pension. If that is the case, you could try writing a letter to him writing his full names on the envelope. Enclose that letter in an envelope addressed to: Paymaster, Sutherland House, Russell Way, Crawley, RH10 1UH with another letter asking them to forward your letter. I can't guarantee that this will work, but it might. The other option is to make similar contact with the Army Records Office in Glasgow. I'll get you that address later. |

| Do you have any idea what cap badge he wore. Cromwell Barracks was basically home to only two units in its time, and one of those was only there for a short time. Paul. |
