So it's on then, a referendum's coming !

I notice Jocks living outside Scotland will no be able to vote, I can see that going down well with a few Jocks I know.
So that means Englishmen, Irishmen, Welshmen, Dutchmen, Chinamen, Pharsees, CofEs and piggin' Buckshees, living in Scotland can vote.

Stand by for wall-to-wall screenings of Braveheart ! cheers

Unfortunately Johnboy there are certain people who just don't understand the reasons why Scotland are seeking independence and the breakaway from English rule.If we Jocks get independence it will start a presidence for the other home countries to breakaway from the UK because they are not getting a fairer deal from the English masters. One concern that really bugs the Scots is why did central government place the nuclear deterrent in central Scotland and not anywhere else in the UK.If their was ever a nuclear attack on the Faslane base then it would wipe out the whole central belt of Scotland in one go as the majority of Scotland live in the central belt. They could have placed it in Kent as it is nearer the opposition if you know what I mean. There will be more arguments about this I'm sure.So get typing folks with your opinions please.Jock cheers cheers

We enjoy a bit of banter but I understand what your saying as for the nuclear thing well if the sh** did hit the fan they would want to be as far away as possible safe in their nuke bunker while the rest of humanity has to make do as long as they are safe nothing else matters . One of mine written some 30 years back ... was I psychic.

The Stone of Scone was returned to Scotland arriving at Edinburgh Castle 30 Nov 1966 .. St Andrew's Day.

Len (Ciphers)

The Bonny Princes Legacy

Do you hear the drums a beating across the highland glen,
as the Red Coats they are searching for the Bonny Prince's men.
The lowland traitor Campbell rules in Edinburgh's Castle keep,
while the widows and the children of slain highland warriors weep.

The Macintosh and Fraser, McKinnon and Loch Neil,
fell in countless thousands, pinned by English steel.
Culloden was a spectacle the like not to be repeated,
as the ragged, hungry highlander's broke, and their Bonny Prince retreated.

Back across the sea the Stuart princeling fled,
and left his highland followers to be ruled by English red.
Thus ended the rebellion of the clans and their miss placed trust,
as Bonny Prince Charlie took their gold, and their claymores turned to rust.

But with James as King peace returned, and both kingdoms were united,
as Highlander and Red Coat merged, and all past wrongs were righted,
they fought alone or side by side across the known worlds face,
against all odds they held their own, and neither found disgrace.
And never shall the Kingdoms split again to stand alone,
as each succeeding Monarch sits, atop the Stone of Scone.

I agree with Gordon it will never happen. Those who live in the central Scotland hold the majority of votes and they are Labour controlled majority. So, Alex 'Soapy' Salmond will be looking for a job come the next election and hopefully he will drop his dictatorial aspirations to break up the union.

PostSubject: 'President-Elect-In-Waiting' Salmon & Independent Scotland   The Democratic People's Republic of Scotland Icon_minitime18/10/2012, 09:59

Ah, well. Possibly an independent Scotland. The way I understand it, Wee 'Eck (Salmon & Pals) want an independent Scotland, but still within the Union, with tax raising and other powers transferred from Westminster to Edinburgh.

As I also understand it, the Scottish Parliament has been running for 10 years now, and it has been fairly successful as everything has been a learning process of what is possible, and what is not possible. However, the problem for Scotland is - if the Scottish Labour Party ever became a political majority in that parliament - then they would apply full blown socialism, and soon run out of cash. Then possibly come a begging to Westminster for bail out funds.

The Scottish Labour Party has always been 'More Red' than their pals south of the border, and have always been known as being very bolshie in more ways than just being 'difficult'.

I come from a Scottish background, and lived and worked in Dundee during the late 1970s and early 1980s when Gorgeous George Galloway was a Dundee City Councillor. The Dundee City Labour leadership decided to fly the Fatah Palistinian flag from the Town Hall against much public protest. Politically, Scotland has always been a mish-mash of left wing bolshie individuals. Whether this is tempered with common sense and pragmatism remains to be seen. There is still a cultural division between Highland and Lowland Scots.

Most 'Lefty Foaming Political Beards' of the hard left of the Labour Party (and outside the Labour movement) don't give a 'sh1te' where the public monies come from - peoples taxes, so as long as it can be spent like confetti. Most Labourites from the Left of that party once in power, behave like a bunch of Drunks who have found a wallet full of cash on the sidewalk, then go on a Pub crawl. When the cash runs out, they start whining and bleating -- then blame Maggie Thatcher for ALL the ILLS of the World.

Coming back to the SNP dominated Scottish Parliament and Wee 'Eck. I'm not sure if their political are as Left Wing as the 'Foaming Beards' of the Labour hard left. Just how far Wee 'Eck wants to take Scotland depends on many things, especially 'Scottish Oil'.

If total independence is the final goal, then will Scotland demand a separate seat in the EU-SSR's Parliament. If so, then Scotland will have to adopt the ruinous mickey mouse Euro (a.k.a Eurine). As a person of Scottish background, I have NO wish to see Scotland wedged even further into the EU-SSR, because this will be ruinous financially, and England, Wales and Norn Iron will probably be dragged deeper into the Soviets of the EU-SSR Land as well.

But we will have to see, and Wee 'Eck and the SNP just what happens. The SNP are nominally Social Democrats, so they and the Limp-Dums of Scotland might just be a counterweight to the Bolshie Foaming Political Beards of the hard left of the Labour Party.

Whatever happens in the coming years - especially if things go 'belly up', it will be Perfidious Albion who gets the blame and the ghost of Maggie Thatcher will also be blamed for all the ills of the nations by the loony left. bounce affraid
