PostSubject: Which regiment is this?   Sun Dec 14, 2008 2:44 am

Hi all,

Trying to identify the regiment this sergeant belonged to?

This is the marriage of Charles Barker sometime in 1943, he was killed by a sniper in Italy in 1944.

I attach a portion of the photo, he was a regular soldier and appears to be wearing a dress uniform.
Note cap badge also the two collar badges.

Thanks
Tony

Now I cant see how to attach a small jpg photo? HELP!!!

Hi all,

Have sent a message to Paul

If anyone is interested Charles Barker born 1902 joined the Royal Artillery [possibly as early as 1920?]
In his wedding photo he is wearing sergeants dress uniform in 1943, 3 days later he was off to Italy where he was killed early in 1944. He never saw his daughter.
Obviously happened a lot in wartime.

Regards
Tony

Tony,

No message has arrived as yet, did you send a PM or e-mail?

Paul.

Hi Paul,

I replied to an email that gave me instructions for posting images.

The uniforn is a Royal Artillery sergeant's dress uniform; the "bomb" type brass badges on the collars is the clue, as the cap badge is a little indistinct.

Thanks for your help.

Tony
