Thought that was female UDR? Wasn't the female RUC callsign RUCbag or something equally un-PC. RUC callsign was certainly RUCsack.

What are the meaning of callsigns above teabag?

How many times did you want to talk to the paymaster by radio anyway!

Floater. RM (G) Staff Ofr/RN Staff or Amph Ops Ofr in HM Ships. (Yeh I am none the wiser either).

Nomad. RN/RAF Navigator.

Offset. RN/RAF Offensive support operations rep?

Fireguard. RAF Regiment.

Speaking of which, on Saturday I espied a male wearing a RAF Regt LAC's number two (?) jacket and the rest was civvies. He had the airscrew badge on plus a variety of medal ribbons. Assuming that he hadn't been anywhere near the forces (he was a fat barsteward), could he be done for wearing decorations he is not entitled to. Mixed dress anyway.

Well from the link gallahad provided it would have been pointless. Does seem wrong that people can walk around with ribbons or medals they are not entitled to.

Fireguard - RAF Regt. Didn't the Regiment also provide the RAF fire service on their stations?

Formerly the RAF's Firefighters were indeed also members of the RAF Regiment, although they are now independent of it and are trained at the Defence Fire Training and Development Centre (DFTDC) Manston, along with the MOD Fire Service after first being trained at RAF Halton as Basic Airman, and recruit women firefighters.

The RAF Regiment train as Gunners at RAF Honington, and as a matter of interest now have the Rank of L/Cpl to bring them in line with the Army in Afghanistan. The RAF Regiment like the Infantry is all male.
