However there are a number of pitfalls

You are clearly thinking of the additional military dress accoutrements but your many friends on this site will be expecting more than a round of drinks in the Senior Officers Mess

Sadly from your point of view promotion to Lieutenant General no longer means an automatic knight hood and a recent defence economy has removed the house staff from senior officers residence, you will have to cut your own grass on that imposing lawn

Finally one for our Administrators, the correct British abbreviation for Lieutenant General is Lt Gen, I am sure our distinguished General Staff are not for hire

As this is a BFG/BAOR Website, and I had the foresight to retain a large quantity of Deutschmarks when I left Germany, I have put DM 200 behind the Bar in the Senior Officers Mess. I have instructed the Barman to use the conversion rate of DM 20 to the Pound Sterling, this will accommodate every ones memory!!
