| Brum, I'm just waiting for the Ukrainian govt to ask Putin for help. I'm sure he would love to expand the Russian empire again ... I'm in a listening mode.

| The way the BBC show it, the eastern side of Ukraine is aligned with Russia, while the western side wants to align with Euroland. (Yeah, let's have MORE bleedin' immigrants !). Putin couldn't handle Chechnya so he ain't likely to get involved with this mess. Stand by for "West Georgia" and "The Peoples Republic of East Georgia". | |

That Short 7.62 Soviet round doesn't seem to have much stopping power, .................... I think it's a different story with the 7.62 NATO round. ................................................................................................................................. Maybe........ My Boy's Big Book on Guns & things says 7.62 mv 854 m/sec. Ak47 717 mv m/sec and 415 mm barrel as opposed to 533 mm with the SLR. Maybe there's some sort of soft projectile for crowd control, but I reckon I'd get up and run if there was chance.

Normally I'd be inclined to say "twos up" but, well, she DOES look a bit rough. Bloody hell, another long-forgotten memory is emerging: a wee mate of mine in Minden who probably should remain anonymous in this narrative could never get any female companionship, always tagged along with me into nightspots, and if I cracked it he would sidle up to me and in a low voice would plead "Twos up, Kris? Go on, mate, twos up....." No chance, I totally disapproved the wee Portobello perve! Actually, his sexual longings apart, he wasn't a bad wee fella.
