| i worked as a taxi driver in canterbury for a few years during the 80s , we had one driver who used to love spinning a yarn . he had the now compulsery who dares wins tattooed on both arms , he used to spout about the terrorist days in malaya , one saturday night in the office i was enjoying a cup of coffee and this hero geezer who took out all the terrorist single handed started on his heroic memories , enough was enough , i pointed out to this idiot that the terrorist campaign in malaya ended before he was born , i also pointed out that the weapons that he supposedly used had not even been invented , he stomped out of the office and was never heard of again , i am sorry but i really had to shoot the bugger down ,he never ever served in the armed forces , ginger, | |

He deserved it, but they pinned it on the wrong end, should have pinned it on his arse. After all he had shit for brains and living with what he did to innocent peeps meant he was a big brave man. | |

| At the last place I worked before retirement we had a real Walter Mitty. When he first joined us he was ex RCT. Then he became a generals driver, then somehow metamorphised into a Para, served in the Falklands, became a Para territorial who trained the ACF, developed a thousand yard stare and to top it all came out with this gem.
Me, "Do you belong to forces reunited or the BAOR forum?"
Him, "What are they then?"
Me, "Where you can keep in touch with like minded Army lads."
Him, "Nah, I only keep in touch with my Marine mates."
Me, speechless.
Apart from that he is a really nice chap but he does have this huge made up life. He is constantly on the alert and wound up.
When we first met him and he came out with all the Para stuff a mate of mine, ex RTC, said he would have liked to see his parachute, when asked why he said that it must have been huge to carry him and a 3 tonner.
