Depleted Uranium Munitions!

Here is several links on a very controversial subject on DU munitions and it's long term health effects not only with engaging with the enemy but it also expose's coalition troops to airborne DU matter which breathed in with have long lasting health effects and can cause sickness and death if exposed to great quantities of it in a short period of time. It's pretty lethal and it's half life is a 'mere' 4.5 "billion years". Despite it's penetration power against enemy bunkers and armour, it's way too dangerous to use, and it's cost to clean it up are very complex and very very expensive as well. I say ban the stuff asap!

Good Question!!????? All I know is I'd never would serve in the middle east region for any amount of $$$$!!! DU is way too dangerous and discriminating a munition to use in any usage!

Balkan Cancer is increasing in the former Yugoslavian Republic's of Serbia and Kosovo by NATO usage of D.U., munitions and were also used Bosnia Republic as well from 1992 to 1995. One can only shake ones head at the misery of it all! Absolutely senseless.....'

As an ex tankie I was under the impression that the DU was only really harmful as it and after it had hit a target! Now how many of have seen pics of lads having happy snaps taken on knocked out Iraqi AFVs? And I wonder how many are suffering because of it, you can bet your bottom dollar nobody warned them of the risks. I wonder what the percentage of people who have contracted GWS from support arms against those in teeth arms.
