When I look down the list of 'BFG/BAOR Locations' Goslar has always been blank, and I would have thought there might have been some former members of the Royal Lincolnshire Regt who might have left a comment on their short time there in the early 1950s.

Anyone out there from these days??

I have a list of barracks in Goslar:-

Hastings Barracks
Seaforth Barracks
Manchester Barracks
Charles Barracks
Border Barracks

Manchester barracks I understand is the former fliegerhorst/airfield to the north of the town. Can anyone place the others at all?

Charles Barracks was in Braunschwieg (Brunswick), Border Barracks was in Gottingen.

New to the Forum so sorry to revive an old(ish) thread but we were in Goslar last summer . Had we known there were old Barracks there we would have visited what was left of them for some photos .

Not in Goslar no . We were told by a German friend to visit as it's such a beautiful town , she was right .
My husband is ex REME and was stationed in BAOR from 1976 - 1987 .
We first went back in 2007 but didn't return again till 2013 , what a difference , sad to see all the Barracks gone or going . But I digress.
We're hoping to go back to Germany next year and will probably visit Goslar again .
Checking out the sight would be no problem .

JPW we are booked to return to Germany in July and will most probably visit Goslar again . While browsing photos of our last visit it would seem I may have a photo of a small part of Hastings Barracks . If it is I hope it brings back memories for some....
