You are correct. Previous instances of the photo posted here were on a remote site which charges to view photos [no matter who posted them]! I live in Minden (now) and the parade square resembles the layout in Elizabeth Bks (I was actually on my way there!) it is a supermarket (in the cookhouse - the accn blocks are given over to an OFH) - Clifton Barracks is totally dempolished and is a large VW and Peugeot dealership.

I was down the road in Westminster Barracks when this photo was taken.

Came across Col Tom Gibson several times in my Army career. Australian by birth he transferred to the British Army.i

I moved with 1 Black Watch from Warminster to Elizabeth Barracks Minden in April 1964. The unit was one of the first to be issued with AF430 series vehicles during autumn of 1964.
I moved on to SHAPE in France in Jan 65, so I don't know how long the Black Watch stayed in Minden.

Hello, Just came across this site as trying to get some information on my Grandad. His name is Sunie Jim Coleman "Taffe" born in Wales and was posted to Elizabeth Barracks in Minden from 1950's to 1964. We think he was in the Royal Artilary. My mum was born over there and we are wanting to get more information. If any one can remember him.

Hi again all. It's been a while since I had owt to say but lots has happened recently.
I'm living with my girlfriend in Lower Saxony now and went on a trip down memory lane to visit Kingsley Barracks last Sunday. I was there from 75 - 76 at 20 Field Electronic Workshop REME.
It was the third and final visit to my old barracks here. I was quite surprised to see that many of the old buildings have survived and all the buildings that made up 20 Field Workshop were still in evidence.
