General Gordon can by the Pimms to celebrate his Knighthood I will buy the Brandy clearly, popular with members present, Brandy Sour is my favourite but only effective when the outside temperature is 75 plus and the main ingredient is gutrot Cypriot Keo

Trust members were on their best behaviour and there was no repetition of the riotous antics in Hannover so amusing described by Bob R

Shelldrake you have my sympathy as Barrack Bill to the F&C Camberley students, one of my newly arrived contemporaries from an un named West African country nearly set fire to his house when his wife lit a wood fire in the kitchen oven in the belief that that was how the British cooked their food

Regarding Shelldrakes deviated subject of quarters, when I was with FHWS Hong Kong the Gurkha section had to train the newly arrived wives from Nepal in the use of the electrical and gas appliances and the WC. It amazing what they would try a do invariably resulting in major damage and blockages - will not elaborate further.

One Officer from a Mid East Country removed the Lounge carpet to prevent it from catching fire when his wife prepared the meals.
