G'day again, just thought some of you might be interested to know in the last few years quite a few former British servicemen have migrated to Australia and joined various police forces in Australia. Quite a few in my old force, New South Wales Police which has 16,000 sworn officers. A lot went to West Australia as well, 5 hours closer to the 'Old Dart.!

Most of the Brits are former soldiers around the 30 age mark with families who migrated. Probably had 10 years in the British Army.

I had a couple at my last station before I retired, they made good coppers. Mature and seen a bit of life, unlike most of the other coppers who came to the cops almost straight from high school/university. The former British soldiers and former Aussie soldiers (quite a few of them in the cops as well) were the only ones with spit polished boots! king Plus they knew how to salute in the prescribed manner.

I have always found it very reassuring and comforting when the Polis kick your front door in that they know how to throw one up! Laughing Laughing

I have indeed Jimsigs 1, while Brum is resting I find it necessary to reinforce the Gunner contribution!! Pity Barnes Wallis is no longer with us, he could have given me a bit of moral support. bounce bounce

Talking about Barnes Wallis, 'The Dam Busters' was on TV the other night.
