Fortunately, we've still got Him on reruns of the show.
Even so, he's not in my favourite clips;
which are-
"you are also in ze book!"
and
(The German aircrew in their dinghy, in the duck pond, (not the exact wording)),
"Come out of there !",
"No !"
Daft British humour, long may it continue !

RIP Jonesy! It's about the only programme worth watching on a Saturday night, still makes me laugh and I could probably mime to them. Laughing

My favorite episode is when they convert Jones' van with the large gas balloon on the roof and the holes in the van to put their 303s through

" fix bayonets,open 2 3 up 2 3 aim 2 3 ,bang 2 3 bang 2 3 " as soon as Mannering said "fix bayonets" while they were in the back of the truck you knew what was going to happen

My favourite episode was where the camtured U Boat officer asked old Jonesey for his name and the cry went up 'Don't let him have it' or words to that effect.

Noticed that Mr Hitler hasn't got his LS & GC either, don't know why as to my knowledge he wasn't a Boy soldier.

They just HAD to wear the old stahlhelm didn't they ?
When I was a kid the pisspot/poe/guzzunder was also called the "Jerry", for obvious reasons.
Whether the bastards would've won or not, we could'nt take them seriously. I mean, look at the Bavarian corporal, COME ON !
(Mind you, rumour has it that he was a closet Gunner).
