A German document (translated) that covers Goslar before and after May 1945.
Mainly for Air Force buffs but some Information for the Army.

Thanks Pborn4

Just a great pity the BAOR Locations page for Goslar cannot be changed to show the first British regiment into the airfield and who gave the name that was accepted by HQ BAOR

Apr 47 – 1st Battalion Manchester Regiment moved in from requisitioned accommodation in the town
Jun 47 – A Company moved in from nearby Braunlager
Jun 47 – B Company moved in from nearby Bad Sachsa
Jun 47 – C Company moved in from requisitioned accommodation in the town (arrived from the UK Feb 47)
Apr 47 – HQ Company moved in from requisitioned accommodation in the town
20 Dec 47 – Regiment departed for the UK

19 Jun 45 – 163 Field Ambulance – 30 Field Hygiene Section – 44 Field Surgical Unit – 528 Mobile Dental Unit are recorded as the first British Troops in

Source 30 Corps District documentation from Kew and regimental history available on line

BTW there were still PW and DP in situ when the regiment moved in
