| One for all us armour nuts and X REME out there. With the problems Iam having with "Basil" my Fox ....... I put this question out there. What would you replace the Jaguar 4.2 with and how would you do it? Can't wait to see the replies | |

| Cummins engine, but I have no idea how you would adapt it. The drive train would be ideal to handle the weight, plenty of torque

| That certainly would push the old Fox along Would have to look at how to couple it up to the flywheel though. | |

| LOL Don't worry been told not too!
For one thing, I do not know of anyone converting a Fox to any other engine, secondly, it will lower the value by a heck of a lot. Providing the Jag is treated respectfully and no abused, it will do what you want of it, and is a pleasure to drive. If you find a diesel, it would have to have fluid flywheel adapted to it, an expensive engineering job. Then the diesel would be unlikely to match the normal running RPM of a Jag, this would also cause problems for the gearbox, because a slower engine would mean the gearbox ratios would not match the diesel engine. You would be very dissapointed in performance to say the least. | |
