| My name is Ian and I serverd in BAOR both in 1 Div and 1 BR Corp Troops.
My first posting, after Mons Officer Cadet School was Fallingbostel where I was stationed with 7 Field Wksp REME. Other notible Regiments in Fally was 4 RTR and 15/16th Hussar. Other posting included Berlin and later at the HQ of I BR Corp Troops in Bielefeld.
At Bielefeld I was OIC SIB RMP until relocated back to Berlin.
Anyone from that time (1972 -74) remember Wollners Bier Kellar in Detmolder Strasse. Owned by a German lady know as "Mutti" and her ex pat army husband who bought the pub having won the lotto totto.

| G'day Ian, welcome to the Barracks. Mmmm, officers mess for you?  What rank were you as OIC SIB ? (I retired as a C/Insp in the coppers over here, following migration to Australia, post Army Apprentice School - Chepstow. Also did 6 years here in Army Reserve - Military Police.) |

| Ian, welcome from me as well. Seeing that you were first with 7 Armd Wksp, were you originally commissioned into REME before transferring to the RMP? I served in Fally and Bielefeld.

| Train. Went up and down. Some mates travelled often. G Int HQ BERLIN Bde. Only time saw JS tank somewhere near Neu Brandenburg. Train had to run 24/7 except Christmas Day when families of train staff travelled. Lunch up; breakfast westwards. Bodger | |
