Brian

Welcome, you will quickly discover that on this site REME has its traditional role of clearing up the mess left behind by other units

I think there are a couple of contributors from your era in Witten Annenwho drop in from time to time

As an aside can you remember the names of any other Army units who were in the area in your time?

Thank you for your welcome messages gentlemen. J.P.W.,Gordon, Jim.

Attempting to find old friends is proving to be quite a daunting and time consuming task - not to mention frustrating! After a year of searching I have made only one contact - with a man in America who, over the years has become rather odd. Or is it me? Perhaps I seem odd to him.

I was a reluctant soldier who took little interest in matters military, but I did make some great friends so I didn't really waste two years. The trade training courses were excellent too, and free!

Regret I have no memory of other units in the area Jim. I only left the camp to play rugby.

Many of my contemporaries will be gone ( I'm 76 ) but I live in hope that a few will still be happy to reminisce.

Please make contact anyone at Witten Annen between '55 and'57.

Brian Hardy.
