Oh it certainly worked Alan ! A bloke in our mob used to delight in saying confusing things to new recruits, (Willie Fitzsimmons again, Brian !). Instead of asking for a can opener he would say "lend me your KF 6314". American design, I suspect. Most of us had one on our keyring. I have one amongst my junk somewhere, I'm pretty sure the catalogue number has changed, wait out.

| Hi all,
Not seen one of these for 50 years; we had them in 1951, and guess they originated in WWII, maybe slightly different design. Yes they did work Who remembers tinned sausages and bacon already in cooking fat Happy days Tony

| I've just dug out the one I have. It's a right manky old thing, stamped 1966. Interestingly, the number stamped on it is 3614, not 6314 as I remember it being. | |

| You sometimes get these when on self catering holidays around the Med or Canaries though I haven't seen one for a year or two now.
Camping shops do sell them.
We used to get them in every 4 man ration pack.
