I was the RAMC Sgt in the Medical Centre Birdwood Barracks from1982 untill 1984, at that time SOXMIS was moved to their Compound away from Bunde for security reasons but they were still treated in the Medical Centre.
If it was a family they were only allowed to come one at a time for secuirty as their GRO thought they may request aslum if all came together.
The Medical Centre was under Signal Regiment admin but was staffed by two RAMC and two RASC/RCT drivers Regiment Medics, with a RAMC Medical Officer, and 4 German Ambulance drivers.
There was also a Medical Centre in the MQ area of Bunde which was 7 Km from the camp.
